My sister has Coeliac Disease & went to a posh works do at a Premier League football club that I won’t name. She emailed ahead with her dietary req’s as requested by their catering team. When she got there her food was......a plate of lettuce leaves!!

It turns out that lots of people don’t know that chips in restaurants are rarely gluten free. Once anything with flour has been cooked in a fryer, the oil has gluten in it. This then sticks to the chips. And yes, it is enough to trigger the full auto immune response.

I've been trying to work out why gluten-free bread always makes me feel ill (I get a lump in my throat, weirdly) and found this: . Would be helpful to be informed gluten-free bread has gluten in it! 😑 No more maize flour for me 🌽🚫

Am feeling ropey. This business is generally a bit arse. I don’t know what I’ve eaten that’s wrong though. Bed. To sleep it off. And listen to my new audiobook. The Bone Collector. Sterling choice to send me off to a peaceful sleep 😂

“Are the chips gluten free?” “Oh yes, the heat in the fryer burns off the gluten from the chicken nuggets”. Carol, member from speaking about misinformation when eating out as a Coeliac.

Just about to eat in the airport in Rome and it's the first time being a has seemed any burden at all. Even at that the service has been very good and knowledgeable. The choice is limited but they are compromising that to ensure no cross contamination.
