New is ludicrous! A transvaginal ultrasound can detect a heartbeat around 6 weeks of pregnancy. However, it’s possible to detect a heartbeat by ultrasound by 7-8 weeks. Many women do not even know they’re pregnant this early, I didn’t! Shame on you
