The 1st sounds we heard before we could see the children held at Ursula were haunting cries of babies & toddlers. I spoke to a dad of a sick 6-month-old girl. She was flushed, listless, her little fists clung tightly to his shirt. Flu, meningitis, typhus, lice & more.

Crossing the border is a CIVIL violation, so is a parking ticket. So if your argument is “but they broke the law” and, so there for they deserve to be locked up in inhumane conditions, than most of us are just as guilty as them.

What if you arrive in heaven to find out some of the migrant children were angels sent here to test your faith? for these asylum seekers? Lock them in crowded cages? No showers? Make them drink toilet water? Seperate families? Put kids in foster care?

These men are in a cell in McAllen, where ⁦⁩ visited, built to hold 10 people but had 4x that amount. They motioned w/ their hands to explain it’s so crowded they can’t lie down. Many have been there more than a month. Some asked us to find their children.

As Members of Congress, it’s our responsibility to conduct oversight. The public must see what’s happening inside these facilities. The way our government is treating vulnerable men, women, & children goes against our values as a nation.
