A beautifully bonsai specimen of the winter form of the Trident maple (Acer buergerianum) at the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum located at U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. This bonsai has been under training since 1856.

The Bonsai collection in the Japanese Gardens at Huntington were so impressive. I had never seen a bonsai before this visit that even came close to how much care these trees must have received.
