Harris’ obsession that any specific targeting of German war production e.g. oil, was a ‘panacea’ (his word) was ludicrous, should have been enough to get him the sack, by 1945 was razing German cities for want of anything better to do

5 years today since that amazing flight in the Canadian Lancaster. This was my view from the mid upper turret while flying over former Bomber Command airfields. An unforgettable day.

Today would have been my Dad's 106th Birthday. Second from the left in the photo. Forever my inspiration..... He had "a full life" . Strong, determined, fair minded, didn't suffer fools but "a real gentleman". A hard act to follow....

I don’t get the mentality behind this. When they are caught they should be made to polish it every day for a year at least.

Coming in to land at Humberside Airport, the former RAF Kirmington, after my flight in the Lancaster 5 years ago today. A day I'll never forget. A flight spent thinking of the lads that gave everything flying from those airfields.

Saddened to learn that several Armed Forces memorials in London honouring sacrifice in service of the Nation have been vandalised, inc. Graspen memorial & memorial. Outraged? Then why not make a point of visiting them next time you are in the capital.

My view from the Canadian Lancaster as we flew over a former Bomber Command airfield, possibly RAF Wickenby. Flying over sacred ground.
