Bill C-81 The Accessible Canada Act has passed, just needs Royal Assent which is a formality. Glad to have been the consultant on the project. A lot of people worked REALLY hard. Congratulations!

We need to focus on abilities rather than disabilities. will allow the to create new accessibility standards and provide persons with disabilities access to the tools they need to flourish in Canadian society.

Do you believe in an too? Where people of all abilities are treated as equal citizens. We changed our Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Human Rights code to say just that over 35 years ago. Time we fixed this!

On the one hand you have over 90 disability orgs, lawyers, countless disabled folks like me & every disability activist in Canada saying Accessible Canada Act is pretty useless - on the other side you have Rick Hansen: 'This bill looks great!' Seems about right
