Unconditional is economic freedom. Bernie is pushing for a job guarantee instead, where income is withheld unless people do what a system of gatekeepers decide what counts as work. As long as income necessary for survival is conditional on work, people are not free.

What if long ago instead of reducing work weeks from 60 to 40 hrs, and paying people more per hour, we instead implemented a job guarantee to make sure everyone could continue jobbing for 60 hours a week? We should demand greater ownership of our time. That's UBI.
