When Nat Cabinet established the hotel quarantine program, the Vic Govt mobilised security contracts within 24 hrs, exempting them from a tender process "due to urgency". They chose from the firms tendered by Morrison. He tendered the team that bungled hotel security!

Hazzard's attack confirms what many women suspect: contempt is close to the surface. His conduct and encouraging geers from male front bench colleagues show how far some male politicians have to go. Such conduct is unacceptable. via

When asked why the Commonwealth has prevented Broader Farce officers from appearing before the Inquiry, Dutton says he will not allow 'his officers' to be 'besmirched' by an inquiry or anyone else.

Rort of the Day. How you do rack up 675k in expenses hanging about at home with two full-time workers also on the public purse?

"Journalists" getting very defensive about the public calling them out on bias. Its not like we literally had a Morrison presser moments before to compare the utter bias & double standard. Australian media needs reform, democracy can't work like this

Typical attitude of The Australian newspaper getting into Emma Alberici. The pattern continues - attack women, teenage climate activists, Julia Gillard, Anastasia Palaszczuk - but never the big boys because they might call you out. No longer a paper to be proud of.

The NSW Liberals and Nationals today voted down my bill for a public register revealing who owns our water. Vote lost 47-44. Great news for Cayman Island companies, who can keep buying as much water as they want whilst keeping their identity secret.

Am I understanding this correctly— If journalist is disrespectful, rude, partisan in line w/ Murdoch's "destroy Labor at all costs" agenda—according to some journos, to call that out is "attacking" the journalist, & we should stop. So we should remain silent. I see. 🤨

Interesting to see so many journalists defending each other during their attacks on Daniel Andrews. Why are they so quiet about Emma Alberici’s treatment? Where were day when Nick Ross was being harassed by Liberal MPs about his NBN articles?

2/3 of all covid deaths in Australia have been from aged care homes...majority private aged care. Federal Govt responsibility. Morrison, Colbeck, Hunt must take full responsibility.

Journalists haven't come out in force to defend one rude journalist (whose job was to pepper-spray a Premier for a gotcha) - they are vicariously defending years of their own behavior. A threshold was crossed: facing having to change, their first reaction is to push back

Two press conferences. Andrews answers every question offered by hostile journalists until there are no more questions. Dutton and Morrison don’t answer questions, abuse journalists, end media conference. There’s a serious problem in Australian journalism.
