Mark Twain famously remarked that the coldest winter he experienced was summer in San Francisco. Similarly, I’ve rarely been as cold indoors as at Frisco, TX Convention Center for Assembly. A friend said he couldn’t hear the speaker over the chattering of his own teeth.

I think one of the glorious things about being part of a self-consciously liturgical tradition is that I have never once heard this song, “Good Good Father,” everyone is tweeting about. If it’s that popular then I’m certain my Baroque-loving soul would abhor it.

50 years today (17 June 1969) since the death of Rt Rev Bryan Percival Robin, at the age of 82. +Bryan served as fifth Bishop of 1941-1956; he was the last Englishman to serve in that role. In his later years he served as an Assistant Bishop in Portsmouth.
