Would be nice for to make amends for supporting by opposing Sunnyside Yards but I doubt it 😔 That’s why we need new leadership + ideas in Giveaways to developers + corporate monopolies + extremist billionaires don’t help working class New Yorkers

The one thing I’ve noticed in every think piece today is the omission of the fact that large luxury resiential towers are going up in its place, regardless of the DOE building or a community land trust. Doesn’t fit everyone’s narrative I suppose.

A year ago today was cancelled. Fun to look back on that day cuz I was in LIC with taking about the organizing we were doing against it. It was also when we first talked about both of us running 😊

📣📣📣 we submitted a FOIL request to Queens DCP calling for the release of draft architectural plans on the former site, now branded Your LIC by developers. Stay tuned, we are not gonna let them stonewall us on this one. Ready to lawyer up if needed.

We have a regional housing crisis. The problem was here before but we know it will worsen. Hope that our Arlington leaders expand the toolbox needed to address with urgency required to have an impact.

Anyway it’s coming up on the anniversary of getting cancelled and we’re gonna hear a bunch of hacks say what a mistake it was and how bad we were for resisting it. And it’s going to make me really mad. They were wrong then and they are wrong today.

It allows people like him to get away with taking money out of our pockets and our public services and it allows compliant elected officials to justify giving them more money like they tried in . It’s gross.
