It took me 38 years to start writing. 44 to get an agent. 46 to get published. At 52 I have 12 books out there. Those first 38, doing other stuff, provided me with a lot of material. Just live your life. Everything will happen when it should.

*looks around* Man, everybody on Twitter is an 'Award-Winning Author,' but me. *looks in mirror* To be an author, you need a book. *looks at floor* Dammit. There's always a catch. *looks at WIP* Better get to work. ✨

I about Queen Victoria's lesbian half-great niece, whose favourite meal was caviar, gentleman's relish, salmon and champagne; who ran an xray unit with her lover on the Italian front in WW1; and once felled a charging bull with a single shot. How's your day going?

She’s a cautious girl, sweet dips her grief in concrete wraps it in a velvet bow hides it under her ribs, deep but if you listen when she dreams you might hear a quiet creak a guttural sound, a dark low moan a shift in her soul as she sleeps

This time last year, I set to work on my first novel. I already had the first chapter, and copious amounts of notes. Now, I have an entire manuscript. 145,244 of the best words I've ever written. I just wanted to say that.

Me before being a writer: *closes book when I hit the acknowledgements section* Me as a writer: *reads every word of acknowledgements section to see who their agent is, what author friends they have, what fun insider tidbits might be there*

Writers, what do you do, if anything to stay fit? Typing hunched over a keyboard for hours on end is so bad for us. I want to know how do you counterbalance that? πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ƒπŸ§—β€β™€οΈπŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ›€πŸ€ΊπŸ‚πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈπŸ„β€β™€οΈ
