I realised I was putting it off so I finally plucked up the courage and did it – I just sent out my first query for The Sparrow. folks, I am one of you now 🙌 Bring on the long months of rejection, disappointment and fearing the sound of a new email.

It's frustrating that I can have an hour long convo with a stranger in a bar and they want to read my book, but I can't get an agent to want to read the thing with my stupid query letter

The timeline feature on QueryTracker is not your friend fellow writers. It's like the sun. Don't look directly at it. EVER.

question re and etiquette (I've read their FAQs/guidelines): within one firm, if I have sent a traditional query letter to agent A but agent B likes my pitmad tweet, can I still send a query to agent B if the agency says only to query one agent at the firm?

Throwback aesthetics--well, I didn't write it THAT long ago, but it feels distant because I've been so immerse in my evil mermaid story. But I still LOVE my & it has gotten a bunch of full requests, so here's hoping my baby will go all the way.

I just got off the phone with an agent. It wasn't an offer, but it was an R&R, which is fucking incredible! I feel like I just got kissed by a unicorn!

Look what I found in an antique shop today. I guess it’s not going to be much help with but I couldn’t leave it in the shelf. Now I’m pondering who may have owned it in the past ... could bring me luck 🤞
