From H. R. Giger's historical design, to the straight forward screenplay by Dan O'Bannon and the atmospheric cinematography of Derek Vanlint and directing of Scott, there never was and never will be anything like this piece of art. "In space no one can hear you scream."

As with any great work of art, it can be both straight forward and obscure. It leaps beyond the typical horror genre into the infinite terrors and mysteries of our universe. Happy Birthday to a film forever imitated but never duplicated.

Most preventable death in (besides Kane sticking his face into an alien egg🙄) was Dallas. He could've remotely closed all the vents and trapped it, pushed it where he wanted. Never any need for him to go into the vent shafts.
