3 yrs ago I received a cookie jar as a wedding gift...haven’t used it once. Thinking of giving it away. Is that rude? Tacky? To be honest I’m sick of it sitting in my kitchen taking up space and I’m ready to chuck it onto the street

for our new teachers: 👩🏻‍🦳👨🏽‍🏫 1- If students are misbehaving, consider it is because they are confused & possibly don’t know how or want to ask for help (it may be embarrassing) 2- Your body language & tone you use when responding to students says more than your words do.

... it’s okay and important that you set clear boundaries to protect you physical and mental health. If someone has an issue with your boundary ask, “Why is taking care of me an issue for you?”

Every once in awhile I need to remind Full Professors that they are expected to reach back and mentor junior faculty. If you don’t know how to do this, seek out resources. It’s no longer solely about you.

for our new teachers: 🧔🏻👩🏽‍🦱 1-Your role is to make you class a safe place where students can remove themselves from their outside realities. 2-Your mission is to genuinely understand what they are dealing with inside & outside of school so you can have a positive impact.

Came home to a bit of a shock. 2 mature trees used to be in this space. felled by neighbours. Obvs their land but was real haven for birds so feel really sad. There is a tallish stump left of the fir tree. Cld it sprout again from small branches?
