Last month, I had a wedding. Six months prior, my wife and I got secretly married at the courthouse. We had to get married in order for me to adopt her daughter. The journey ends today. Today I legally adopt my wife's daughter!

I truly have no words for the exciting way my life has changed since Thursday; I am happy beyond measure. I love my new brother & I am excited to see what the future holds. I know our father brought us together. This is what I had always hoped reunion would be.

For those “waiting to adopt” I’ll say this: there’s no reason children should be aging out the foster care system with no family, support, or someone to guide them through life. If u really want to be of help to kids, foster care is a great place to start.

God is already working in growing the families. We aren't writing the incredible story, but when we get to participate in a chapter, it is a joy! We've been blessed to update the home study and walk alongside them in post placement after their out-of-state placement.

Sure, DNA tests are massively creepy and ethically dubious, but imagine that you're adopted and it is illegal for you to have your own file and birth certificate.

Just when you think you’re failing as a parent, baby girl covers you with a blanket, grabs a tissue for you, hugs, and kisses your forehead. It probably helps that she’s not biologically mine. 😂❤️
