people are some of the best actors out there. Why? Because we've been pressured to blend into neurotypical definitions as a means of survival forever. Acting is what we DO. The very idea of hiring a neurotypical to mimic an autistic person is pure irony.

Look at this fucking garbage. Please, don't give Autism Speaks or Sia your attention money. Give love to neurodivergents.

As is trending Hi, I am an autistic woman (yes we exist). Autism is often misrepresented in the media dramatically, which was one of many reasons why I didn't get diagnosed until 24. Please listen/empower autistic voices when it comes to representation

This makes me so uncomfortable, like y'all really couldn't cast someone who is autistic? And besides that this film feels like inspiration porn and I 100% think I'm right. And no one in the making of this movie is . This disgusts me as an autistic person

sigh. yet another example of Hollywood casting a non-disabled actor to play a disabled character. When doing a film about Autism, hire folks to work on it.

I see it’s once again time for a reminder that Autism Speaks is a hate group which is strongly rejected by the autistic community...

I watched the trailer and as an person...that movie was a friggin overload for me. Chile I felt like I was in rainbow puke town. Made me hella uncomfortable. All them colors and music at once? Overloaded the hell outta my senses, but, 4 years research tho.

“Having a non autistic actor simulate autistic movements and stimming is offensive. The commodification of autistic people’s actions for profit and poor inspiration porn is a cruel and ableist treatment of autistic people.” -

I’ll write my own posts and tiktoks about Sia, but for the journalists and editors that follow me, any paid opportunities should go to people.

So non-autistics found . Most of you have good intentions, so let me explain: This is a hashtag by and for AUTISTICS. Created as a space for autistics to connect cause non-autistics speak for and over us, dominate the conversation, spread harm everywhere else.

Since it's trending, here's the short version for the unaware: Autism Speaks is largely despised by the community for the broad social damage they've done to Autistic people. A$ frames Autism as a tragedy and puts burdened parents first - not kids.

Hi, I'm a young autistic person and I wrote an article about my feelings concerning Sia's upcoming movie, "Music". Please consider reading an autistic perspective about this movie.

Hi , the fact that you tweeted this to an actor shows you have some deep-seated beliefs about disabled people & making personal attacks doesn’t help your argument about having good intentions (which btw isn’t enough when the intentions lead to harm)

Sia: in my film, I show how autistic people can accomplish their dreams with music. Also Sia: in my film, Music, I’m the reason people can’t see themselves accomplish their dreams.
