Good Monday morning everyone! Your Valley forecast for today calls for lots of sun and blue skies. Temperatures will warm up a few degrees warmer than yesterday as weak upper level ridging takes over. Look for highs in the low 80’s this afternoon. Have a great day!

St Patty's Day "Fireworks": Arizona storm lovers/chasers are hungry for more than Guinness, corn beef and cabbage today. They are starved for thunderstorms. The Mogollan Rim, Santa Cruz and Pima Counties have fired a few photogenic storms. Chase. As for me, pass a Guinness.

This is the rolling 8-day NDVI index from last year and this year. What a difference! I wonder if areas west of Tucson, like Organ Pipe, are in bloom? Anyone know?

The warming trend continues through Tue with highs in the low to mid 80's. A storm system will bring cooler below average temperatures & slight rain chances for the latter half of the week. After a warm up Fri & Sat, another system could impact the Valley late next weekend

Here are today's numbers for the Phoenix Metro on this . We warmed up to 79° at the airport under lots of sun and blue skies. We do have some convection to our North & South but conditions remain calm here in the Valley. Be safe if you're out celebrating!

Even satellites can see how wet has been this winter. Notice the snow (white) & more dormant vegetation in 2019 (left), and the pronounced greenness at lower elevations versus 2018 (right). Image courtesy Droughtview
