When testing is systemised, consistency is improved and it ultimately becomes a repeatable process. A site tested today and one tested in a years' time will have exactly the same tests applied in exactly the same way.

Colorblindness is common problem, also often ignored in data visualization as well (looking at you, blue/red electoral maps). The good news is that folks are always improving (automated!) solutions. Even my CS1 students are working on accessible color solutions.
