The most interesting point I've heard is that it's also a business issue - people aren't starting new companies because they can't afford to get healthcare on their own, so it's a damper on innovation. I brought that up and they were unmoved 😂 I think you're totally right.

Well assuming all of us paid taxes, which covered healthcare for everyone, this is a non-issue.

That was exactly my situation too 😂 felt uncontroversial to say and then remembered I was in the US and was like.... well, you guys should be the ones who are embarrassed about this interaction, I stand by my statement!!!

This weekend, I forgot that some people think that you only deserve healthcare if you're rich enough for it, and remembered when they looked affronted that I would bring up such a controversial topic at a party! I've never been more proud of my lack of tact tbh

I personally go by my husband's last name but I skipped the legal stuff since it was a hassle and I still use Odjick professionally (also, I'm the only Desirae Odjick out there, my SEO is baller 😂) I might do legal stuff later still, who knows

Hahahaha thank you!! Honestly, bless my decision not to cover US companies, because it's way more fun to write about tools you can use yourself.

Me: I'm not that into writing review posts. Me, when a new tool has wronged me in the onboarding process:

Don't worry, mine is Beauty and the Beast, aka "even if he kidnaps your father and then you, don't worry, YOU CAN CHANGE HIM!" Disney is so problematic omg.

"I don’t draw a salary from my business yet. I’ve been reinvesting everything... So I obviously lead a very minimalist life." This series, about the real-life finances of starting a business, is so good!!!

Me, reading this article: Wait there are people who *don't* have to think about money? (Context: I used to think at my current income level, I could stop thinking about money but uhhhh hasn't happened yet!)

Is Tangerine the best online bank in Canada? (I'm highly biased as a long-time user, but spoiler, I think it is.)
