This is a much better argument than the one employed by Poroshenko, I do hope you see the difference

I believe Nyerere had a theory like Poroshenko's and decided everyone in Tanzania should speak Swahili. If I have any Tanzanian followers on Twitter I'd love to hear whether you think that strengthened the country. Honestly, I don't know, this is not a rhetorical question

By the logic that English is critical to a strong America, you could decide that Russian is critical to a strong Ukraine. But I don't think that, I think Ukrainian is important to Ukraine. But this is obviously not true of every country (Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada..)

Lots of reasons to support 's language law, & people must understand how important language is to Ukrainian identity. But former President just said: "without a language, a state cannot exist". So many examples to prove that's not true. I find it SO annoying!

Worth reading again. Trump said Muslim Democratic Congresswomen love Al-Qaeda: “the love they have for enemies like al-Qaeda, then you know what -- I will tell you that I do not believe this is good for the Democrat Party.”

If you work for a racist, expect to be asked about his racist comments instead of whatever initiative you want to talk about. Journalists, please don’t stop asking these questions. We can’t just move on from this and let this be a one or two day news story.

Glad to see The Guardian is not putting the word 'racist', as referring to Donald Trump's racist tweets, in inverted commas, or attributing it to 'critics'. No media should.

Why does put the word ‘racist’ in quotes in this sub-head to a story about ’s stoking of racial tensions? The easy answer: the paper’s editors likely believe that omitting the quote marks would compromise the paper’s objectivity - a wrong-headed notion.

Polish public television (which is in theory constitutionally obliged to be unbiased, needless to say) has now so totally given up pretending to be anything other than a propaganda mouthpiece for the ruling party that it even uses the same typeface and infographics design.

2 phases of appeal to come. I hope the voices of other journalists who were there at the time will be heard before then, that an investigation at the scene (no longer a warzone) will take place, & that justice will prevail in the end.

Oh so the prolonged sanctions stay in place even if the original sanctions are annulled? Is that how it works? And for all of them? Answers please, twittosphere! (either way, this still doesn't mean 's so-called prosecutors are off the hook)

's General Prosecutor's office (Prosecutor Lutsenko appointed by former President Poroshenko) failed to proceed with investigations against associates of fugitive former president Yanukovych, so European court has cancelled sanctions against them.
