Odd MacBook problem: Time Machine backs up when you're connected to a power adaptor. Which doesn't happen too often.

i've considered setting up a Keyboard Maestro macro to force it when i plug in the drive, regardless of power.

Thanks. I was actually away from home for a chunk of and just forced a backup now. I was amazed it'd lasted so long really.

I can't look right now but I believe you can find it in System Preferences-> Time Machine -> Options or something to that effect.

Oh. That's a good idea. Joining a home network with it's Time Machine on it would be cool too.

Well, that too. It was complaining I'd not backed it up in like 20 days. I forced a backup at home since it still had power.

I would have an anxiety meltdown if I hadn't backed up for more than a month! Nerd point for not taking a picture of your screen.

you never charge it in range of the WiFi that has your time machine? Because Powernap should allow it while sleeping.
