As a human being, I tend to think of the here and now. God thinks more of the by-and-by. I think of the temporal; God thinks of the eternal. I think about what will make me happy; God in what will make me holy. I look at the small picture; God looks at the big picture.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the moment you accepted Christ you went to Heaven? God could have done that. But He has us go through life instead. We go through blessings and trials and all kinds of things as He prepares us for Heaven. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
