I've announced that it will be mandatory to wear face coverings on public transport from Monday June 15th, given that we expect a further uplift in passengers as a result of non essential shops re-opening.

The UK’s Blue Badge scheme celebrates 50 yrs today. A lifeline for so many, we extended the criteria to hidden disabilities last year. Disability, in whichever form, shouldn't prevent people from access 👏 🚘

We have agreed funding for  to keep vital public transport running in London & return it to full capacity. We still need people to WALK & CYCLE instead, work from HOME and avoid the RUSH HOUR, but this deal will bring more services.

NEW GUIDANCE: Consider wearing a face-covering where social distancing isn’t possible at every moment, e.g. on public transport. The evidence suggests that wearing a face-covering does not protect you, but it may protect others if you are infected but have not developed symptoms.
