Please don't include all landlords; some behave ethically. Let's aim our fire at those who don't. My partner rents out his flat to a family; he hasn't put rent up since they moved in (3+ years ago) & he's dealt with every problem as quickly as he could (inc damp & new windows).

The disconnect when they’re assuming that every tenant has the spare income/savings to forward any future payments on request. Unfortunately as unethical as it is, they’re in their right to evict anyone. The government should be doing more.

I don’t think it’s entirely fair to demonize this person, they likely have a mortgage on the home that their tenants are renting. The mortgage lender will want their funds on time as well. The tone and approach isn’t good at all, but fear makes us do weird things.
