Coercive control can have a devastating and long lasting impact on survivors - but it's still not always fully understood. We welcome this move to give survivors a voice in the system, and ensure that perpetrators are held to account

Lenient sentences are handed down time and again for serious domestic abuse offences that can leave survivors with life-long physical and mental injuries. We hope this extension will lead to lenient sentences being properly challenged.

In July, told us more victims of crime should be able to ask for criminals to get longer sentences in more crimes. The government is now announcing the scheme will be extended to 14 more crimes including stalking and coercive control.

Normalizing pedophilia and calling it a “sexual orientation” is dangerous! A pathology of this type needs trauma-informed treatment, not “normalizing.” It is not “normal” to desire children sexually, whether it is acted upon or not.

This lunchtime we are thinking of every woman across the country working in a domestic abuse refuge or specialist service, saving the lives of the most vulnerable women & children who need somewhere safe to go. This is not an easy job. You are incredible, each & every one of you.

Sadly this is true. Try punishing the perpetrator then victims might have the courage to speak out, that's a good starting point. This crime is an epidemic which is still misunderstood. Knowledge is power!

What a day it’s been so far at the conference. Over 120 survivors have travelled from across the UK to be here today. Their bravery to share with us their experiences & how they’ve found the courage to speak out & campaign for change has been powerful and inspiring.
