The cardboard separator (aka OCC separator) in the GreenWaste Material Recovery Facility (MRF) uses triangular shaped discs that identify the size & weight of cardboard. Once separated, the cardboard is stored until it is ready to be baled!

Here is a shot of our Side-loader truck in action! The driver needs to bring the carts to the side of the truck in order to operate the tipper. The tipper lifts up the cart and empties the contents into the body of the truck.

The Electromagnetic Separator at the GreenWaste Material Recovery Facility (MRF) is used to capture ferrous metals from the trash that comes in. Recovering ferrous metals helps increase the diversion of those materials!

The Tip Floor at the GreenWaste Material Recovery Facility (MRF) is where all recyclables are dumped after collection. Floor sorters take out large items by hand before a bucket loader feeds the material into the system to begin processing!

Ready to recycle your cardboard? Remember to place them loosely in your cart to prevent them from getting stuck during collection. Placing them loosely also helps you fit more in your cart. Extra cardboard can also come in handy for DIY projects!
