…all of that and much more will be featured in each museum. I’ll also be writing a book that traces printing history across six centuries. You can pledge for an ebook ($10), a Linotype slug ($100), or a full museum ($1,000). More details here:

Has he ever faced any consequence of note until now? Do we think his marbles are all sitting in neat slots in his head at this point?

Forgive my endless reminders, but I’ve got 10 days to go and 40% funding to achieve on the Tiny Type Museum & Time Capsule. The top reward is a literal tiny type museum, but there are tiers from $10 to $1,000. Give it a peek!

That’s fantastic. I really can’t understand how someone starts a business knowing that most or all of their employees are going into debt while working for one. (It's possibly why I don't have employees!)

I'd agree. It's sometimes hard to know, because it was absolutely common to have faces recut in those days by competing firms or to be reproduced through stereotype, making the equivalent of photocopies of source type!

There is a popular restaurant owner who, when the "$15" minimum wage was being floated said "I'm not going to pay high school students $15 an hour to clean bathrooms!" I have no idea how she runs her restaurants if that was her reaction.

Almost certainly a version of De Vinne (who also wrote notably about type). Look particularly at the lowercase s and g

It’s seemingly idiotic of the legislature at a time when there are substantial teacher shortages and nearby states that pay a lot more. But the legislators haven't yet paid a price for coddling oil billionaires and stiffing teachers.

Wrong goals and bad math. They think running a business is 100% for their benefit, or they look at a spreadsheet and don't understand how paying people more actually produces a better bottom line. SO WEIRD TO ME.
