It's got such an inelegant layout, coupled with balloons and sound effects, and oddly spaced title treatment. There's a quality of perfunctory "this is what a cover look like" without an understanding of what might make a good cover.

You have to aim for the small tear of fabric right there on his throat.

This cover looks like an art director's version of what a cover from this era might look like. It's like a prop you'd see on TV.

It moves slowly and the dread increases minute by minute. There's no big TA-DAH type explosive finale/payoff. It's all "of a piece." It maintains its vibe throughout.

The SNL Presidential Bash was back when everyone was nuts about Carvey's Ross Perot. Quite a time capsule.

The KING KONG taping was a special thing at the time, as it was the first time it had aired on TV with restored footage.

The tape labeled "video experiment" means before we get to the BATMAN RETURNS making-of special that's on the tape, I was screwing around with the camcorder. I am terrified and excited about what it could possibly be.

Yep! Tom Wilson played Turner! They aired the pilot and never picked up the series.

The Ranma/anime tape was from a time where we'd (, ) drive 90 minutes away, to BCS Comics & Games, rent anime, and set two VCRs up to dub tapes. Sixpence was a show at a youth group event I taped with a camcorder, literal months before they blew up.

Me and chipped in to get the bootleg FF movie - I can't even remember where we got it; I wasn't attending cons back then. The TMBG tape was my own big splurge (Tower Records) on my trip to NYC during the Summer of 95.
