11. Personally; staff & audiences want someone who will champion and advocate MORE publicly for what we do, and why we do it. When the ABC is front page news, the board and management should be out there telling staff and audience what is going on and why.

8. Not sure I'd go as far as Faine on her lack of interest in News, But I simply don't know. Her strategy was to give execs more leeway. But she had less people reporting to her, and people feel that cut her off from the day-to-day.

6. Issues around future digital strategy - big bucks - were source of tension, but were not insurmountable. Differences b/w Milne & Guthrie over whether govt would fund the idea. Either way, Milne was in communication with senior execs more than they felt was normal.

NEWS 5. The Chairman was worried more executives would walk out the door. Four significant people had left already, including Rob Simpson and David Pendleton. (Torney b4 Guthrie) Were worried more would follow. Board “concerns about stability of the senior leadership team..”

3. I'm told that after sacking, she is entitled to around one years salary, which is around $900,000 4. They're hoping she won't launch legal action, but they're not afraid of it either. Looks like the contract gives the board broad discretion to terminate her job.
