Echo sentiments of my good friend in wishing gets over this latest hurdle in his battle against pancreatic cancer, a horrible disease which claimed my dad three decades ago. Such a shame Pat misses riding at but we’re all rooting for him.

By the way my deliberate mistake was that Enable finished third at Newbury - runner-up was Raheen House. @brianmeehanltd

Gr8 to see my old mate Walter Buick guesting on on Sunday -lots of chat about Enable but no mention that the only time the filly has been beaten she was ridden by Walter’s son William when runner-up to stablemate Shutter Speed on her 3-y-o seasonal debut at Newbury.

Superb interview with on the legendary Dermot Weld on . The Wizard, as Dermot has always been known, was so relaxed and Nick got the very best out of him. #10-10

Amazing to think that. It was 55 years ago today that I started work - walked into the offices of in Covent Garden as junior office boy earning £5 15s per week. Loved every minute of the climb up the racing ladder and so many happy memories of those golden days#🥂✈️

America is a great country but they have some crazy laws - you cannot buy a beer until you are 21, yet you can freely purchase a machine gun at the age of just 17. The mind boggles.

We need to get rid of Mustafi but who would want to buy him. Maybe Rochdale!

Sounds like you had a Sardinian nightmare mate, courtesy of EasyJet. Looking forward to hearing all about it on Tuesday.

Brendan Powell is spot on. She clearly wants the mile and those blaming Ryan obviously did their “orchestras”. Shame but losses only on loan chaps.

If Pepe is as good as we are told then Arsenal might be among the biggest scorers this season. Trouble is we have still to buy any central defender to plug the leaks at the back. We could enjoy a few exciting 5-4 victories but I fear the worst.

I was at Flemington when Double Trigger ran in the Cup, but though Mark is a great trainer, Trigger was never going to have enough pace for the race. He was tough and stayed all day but you need a Stradivarius finishing kick in Melbourne and he did not possess that fifth gear.

Obviously, you’ve watched Grundy v Bustino plenty on tape, Lee, but you were minus two in 1975 and, like yesterday, you had to be there to fully appreciate it. Dick Hern was a master planner and used his pacemakers perfectly, but Grundy was just too good. Two magical races.

I went to my first King George at the age of 13 when French-trained Right Royal V beat the previous year’s Derby winner St Paddy, and, while this latest renewal was simply awesome, it has to share top billing with Grundy v Bustino in 1975.

So sad that the brilliant Sea of Class has lost her battle - she was a wonderful filly who made Enable go all the way in the Arc despite an horrific draw. And the owners brave decision to keep her in training this year deserved better. Tragic loss to the sport.
