Had an excellent conversation with yesterday for the podcast, can't wait for everyone to hear it. And, part of the conversation sparked an idea for a found-footage story for me ... so extraspecial bonus!

Woke up to get ready for an interview and discovered they’d turned the water off without telling us. It’s a nightmare, you don’t wanna knooooow.

You know, while I'm happy the Raptors won their basketball thingie, I could have done without the weird anxiety attack and the four-hour headache the celebrations afterwards provoked.

What also would have been interesting to add to Brightburn would be the idea of him taking on protective coloration depending on who found him/touched him first. Some neat potential stuff to do there, with Not Clark./7

One way or the other, this doesn't sound like anybody thought it out beyond the pitch, and that's sad./6

Or is the point that everybody's always found him creepy for no reason, even the Mom who loves him to distraction and makes dumb decisions because of it? So she's undercutting herself even as she pleads with him to be good/for him to others?/5

If there IS Christ/Moses mythology, though, why not explain it to him that way: "We knew you were special and now you have these powers, go out and help people! People will like you! You'll get sidekicks and girlfriends! And money, and power!"/4

Maybe don't keep the spaceship, then? Because even if he was just a "normal" alien kid, you'd still had to have The Talk about how you're either alone in the universe with no potential friends exactly like you, or maybe you should treat humans a bit fucking better./3

I mean...I get that making him get his powers around puberty is supposed to distinguish him from Clark Kent, but do his parents literally never expect to have to explain where he came from? To anybody? Including him?/2
