Mainly because it’s a challenge. It’s a challenge for me, a challenge for the coracle, and again it’s a personal challenge for me.

Seldom have I seen a bunch of people so badly in need of a chippy tea and a pint.

Hi. Is there somewhere online where I can find a detailed list of what’s changing, and when, on the Winter Hill transmitter? I mean some actual detailed technical information, not just a layman’s guide or a “you may need to retune your TV” advice page. Thanks.

If the damage was caused by the condition of the road, you should claim the cost of repairs from the council. But to be honest, it looks as though that exhaust hanger has pretty much rusted through rather than being damaged by the speed hump.

I had assumed that the lady here was called Rita, and that the apostrophe was possessive. Details from Tesco's website are a little darker than I expected.

It's not as though she's accountable to them, or anything...

Hope everyone remembers to take a whole load of photos of the light dusting of powdery snow and post them all over Twitter and Facebook for the benefit of those of us who don't have snow (or windows).

What's going on with your site this morning? Pages loading on probably fewer than 50% of attempts, and when they do they take ages and ages.

I think I’m starting to understand the Ascent business model. “Would you be able to come and fit an aerial for me?” “That depends - do you have a dog?”

You need to replace the 20,000 we’ve lost before you recruit the 20,000 new ones.

Given the colour of the units in the background, I like either of the ones on the right 👍 😄

Simply that if the RSPCA and other anti-firework groups want to ban something, they should probably focus on something that's a far bigger problem in the equine community than fireworks!

20 equine deaths due to fireworks since 2010? How many equine deaths in the same period as a result of participation in horse racing? (I'll save you the bother, it's 1,563.) What about banning horse racing? No, thought not.

Comparing apples with oranges there, Rob. Since 2010 there have been 28 dog-related fatalities, presumably in humans. How many firework-related fatalities have there been *in humans*?

Just found some info on your website, . 1,175,193 calls in 2018, of which 411 were firework-related. So 0.03% of your annual calls. Really not the massive problem you're making it out to be, is it?
