Doors. The unsung hardest part of games. Having worked on SWAT 4, I get eye twitches whenever I see doors.

Duuuuude! Your game is THE BEST! At some point I want to pick you brain about how you all handled some of the systems. Consider yourself owed a beer.

I'm ranting :p The bigger the company, the more likely they would be to resist remote work. Big = slow to change in process and in need of proof. Examples of this type of collab working would go a loooooong way.

A helpful thing to advance the cause would be to work toward solutions to alleviate the collaboration challenge. Like it or not. most big companies view remote work as a risk and productivity hit that yields worse results. This might be something that can be overcome.

...this becomes considerably more difficult. I've been in countless meetings and reviews with people remotely and it is a completely different experience than sitting next to someone. That might suck too much or perhaps be worth biting off the challenge.

One reason is that narrative in games demands far more collab and facetime. Is it possible telecommuting? Sure. But not being in the same room greatly hinders the process. I could illustrate countless examples, but in short, navigating complex spaces that thrive on detail...

Rayna is spot on. I was in charge of hiring in design for years. This shit was complicated a few years ago and has only become more challenging. I appreciate the sentiment, but we need to be precise and accurate when people can get worked up about the issues that this touches.

Not out yet. I'm enough to get an early peak. Not sure about a date, but seriously, dude, I love this game and it's brilliant. BRILLIANT!

And full disclosure: I worked with these people on FF and Shock etc. They are friends, but also some of the most talented people I've worked with. They deserve all the success they'll likely find with this gem.

As a dev, it's also a game that makes me red with jealousy. How did I not think of this? How did they tune it to create so many perfectly balanced glorious wins and devastating loses? How is this so damn funny? How are they creating these randomized environments? It's maddening!

I cannot recommend this game enough. If it's not on your radar, it needs to be! The most fun I've had since BotW (though they have little in common). If you like Dead Cells you need to play this. If you like Shock games, you need to play this.

I'm in love. Been playing Void Bastards and I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this game. A shoe in for early GotY and possibly an all-time fave. It's weird, tense, hilarious, subversive, and beautifully combines genres, aesthetics brilliantly.
