While I don't want to diminish the value of GitHub Sponsors, I think it bears repeating that the path to FOSS sustainability is not individuals funding projects. We will only reach sustainability when the companies making profit off our work are returning value to the Commons.

Quand MC Solaar parle de "l'élite au bic" dans Tournicoti… à votre avis la contrepèterie est voulue?

Elizabeth Warren has been a tenured law professor at Harvard since 1995. She is one of the all-time most cited legal experts in bankruptcy and commercial law. The rate she charges is barely competitive with her male "peers" w/ far less expertise. FUCK. THIS. NOISE. PAY. WOMEN.

Gotta love bots that automatically close well-defined issues because you didn't jump through the very specific (and irrelevant) hoops they expected.

How well do you know CSS variables? 55% of voters got this wrong.

I don't know, it looks interesting and they do support react-native's accessibility API:

Didn't know that the Atom project never really worked on accessibility. VS Code fares better here (aka they invested developer time, i.e. money).

Not so much for cross-cutting, architectural work in big company-sponsored projects.

They don't have the time or expertise to do the job, but they would have the time and expertise to review pull requests and significant reworking of the UI from volunteers?

When filing a new bug, the existing bug suggestion list seems to use a dark theme color (light gray) and hardcoded light backgrounds, making it unreadable.

Accessibility issue with the link color: - Default contrast is 4.58:1 which does reach WCAG2 AA requirements, but it's still fairly low contrast. Personally I have a hard time reading links _quickly_ with that contrast level. - The hover style for links has 3.38:1 contrast.

But if you rely on hover styles for that, i.e. if your button design has low affordance and leaves doubt in the user's mind, you have a design issue in the first place (with no hover crutch to show to users on touchscreens).

I disagree on both counts. Rounded corners can be a visual signifier for buttons that adds affordance (especially when the design has few other signifiers like borders or suggestion of depth). :hover styles can add affordance too, by alleviating user doubts ("is this a button?")

Anyway, I’m not saying anything Stella Young didn’t say better: “That quote, 'the only disability in life is a bad attitude', the reason that's bullshit is ... No amount of smiling at a flight of stairs has ever made it turn into a ramp...”

They use react-native-web which abstracts away the actual DOM/HTML implementation.

I think that was improved a few releases ago? (Not 100% sure.)
