And just like that... 20 years of training officially over. Today was my last day operating as a trainee. Next time I meet a pt, my intro will be “Hi, I’m Dr. Mitchell and I’m your surgeon.” Surreal.

There is a Jewish tradition that the most righteous die on the eve of Rosh Hashanah (the very end of the year) - that is, in their year to pass, they were given as much of it as possible. ; her memory will be a blessing for generations.

From NPR: Just days before her death, as her strength waned, Ginsburg dictated this statement to her granddaughter Clara Spera: "My most fervent wish is that i I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."

RIP She stood for all of us as long as she could. Now we must all stand up for everything she fought and believed in. "Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you." It's time to carry her torch. Please do not give up.
