How do you spot a failed business model? Answer: Price goes up and value either stays the same or doesn't grow. The gold standard is they increase value and sets of services and lowers the price. They win the long game with their customers.

The original contract with IBM was the secret ratchet that made Microsoft so much money and IBM didn't realize the size of growth and figured to keep the clause in there for Microsoft to get a vig on all PCs sold. BOOM rest is history - I was 17 an went into Computer Science
