Apparently unpopular opinion: I think commenting code is important and should always be done. Don’t tell me “but the comments get out of date!” – then update them. We don’t let tests “get out of date”, and comments are no different.

“But code should be self-documenting!” Yes, and it “should” also be bug-free – how’s that working out for you?

Wish there was a way to automatically detect when comments no longer reflect the state of the world, like we can with tests.

One thing I miss that AppCode used to do very well in Objective-C: it was able to rename symbols in _comments_ when refactoring your code.
