The native we started are doing great! Looking forward to distributing plants to who want to help monarchs. 🌱🥚🐛🦋🧡 Together, we can !

We have lamb’s ear as well. Not native, but the pollinators all love it! Here’s one in bloom with some of last year’s monarchs that were kind enough to stay for a photo after we released them. We’ve heard that it doesn’t bloom everywhere it grows, but can’t recall the details.

They’re almost here! This year we hope to raise and release even more than in ‘17. Wish us luck! 🐛🦋 Thanks for keeping us posted . Report your sightings!

An ~80% reduction in 22yrs is enough to say so, & it doesn’t have to be one or the other. More abundant species will suffice for the predators & parasitoids before our releases lay more eggs (there’s no way we can get them all). They’ll be contributing less if they go extinct.

Disagree completely. With the migration in danger because of human behaviour, it’s our responsibility to do what we can to help bring them back from the brink. Of the 144 we safely raised indoors last yr, maybe ~5 would have made it in the wild.

Last year's butterfly! One of the first sightings in years after several years of propagating common milkweed and butterfly weed. Their process of communication uses colors and scents.

My native Butterfly Weed plants (Asclepias tuberosa) have Monarch Butterfly eggs. I'm going to be a butterfly mom!! ::pacing nervously, passing out cigars, shaking congratulatory hands, shaking booty::
