But yeah, it’s not probably what you are looking for. Ken’s next book will be about Vajrayana per se.

Essence of Vajrayana = Dzogchen, and essence of Dzogchen = A Trackless Path by Jigmé Lingpa, and available in a translation by @kenmcleod: amazon.com/Trackless-Path… 😃

"In a world where the tao does not prevail, anxiety and frustration are not completely avoidable." - Benjamin Schwartz, Three Ways of Thought in Ancient China. Another (understated) reason why searching for joy within is at best only part of the story.

Nice one! Reminds me of one my favorite quotes from R.A.W. : « The border between the Real and the Unreal is not fixed, but just marks the last place where rival gangs of shamans fought each other to a standstill. »

His work Science of science and reflexivity, would have a lot of commonality with some ofnyour current interest: articulating how science while still being a social activity, doesn’t imply that it’s « just » another social discourse.

@Meaningness Given your interest on ethnomethodology and the study of science, I wondered if you ever came across the work of Pierre Bourdieu? He was one of the few sociologists who took both structuralism and ethnomethodoly seriously, and integrated both in his work.

It might also be a question of definition. Some makes a distinction between feelings (body sensations + affect tone) and emotions (feelings + what they mean). E.g.: I have an unpleasant vibratory feeling in my stomach vs I’m anxious.

Call-in vs call-out culture: a needed corrective from the black feminist elder Loretta Ross, I hope her call-in call and critique spreads amidst the growing toxicity of today's otherwise admirable social justice movements. nyti.ms/33QzmyV

According to How Emotions are Made by @LFeldmanBarrett, I’d say that it does have the criteria to be an emotion.
