Our season four finale is out now, and the reviews are in. This one is from our longtime listener in South Korea who is not a fan of cliffhangers. Sorry/not sorry.

New episode! We get a little goofy talking about the , aka the "ghost owl" along with some other creepy nicknames. We discuss why it got such creepy names, how it hunts so darn well in the dark, and what exactly is in an owl pellet.

Oh and one final thought: when I mentioned a number of parents grabbed pens or brought out their phones. Shows there’s a need and desire for the org, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

During the Q&A the β€œPow” kid asked, with more than a little relish, why the story was so weird. It was one of the best compliments I’ve ever received. /end

But most of all how kids are up for it if they know you’re working hard for them, designing something specifically for them. It’s so gratifying to create for kids.

It made me think of a few things: first how different it was to perform for a cold audience who didn’t know the show, who weren’t already on our side. It took me like 15 minutes to explain all of the crazy aspects of the show.

One of the kids yelled β€œPOW!” for his favorite choice each time. It was amazing. πŸ’₯

The kids were so great. Even though they’d never heard of the show before, we got a sound club going with kids providing sound effects for the show, and they all responded loudly and forcefully to each choose-your-own -adventure option.

Today’s show had about 50 registered audience members. None of them had heard the show before. NONE. I was blown away when no one raised their hand that they were a listener. Shoutout to the Plainfield Public Library for getting an audience to come to a weird afternoon show.
