In Virginia, a bill that would permanently end driver's license suspension for unpaid fines and fees just passed the Senate. If it becomes law, VA will join California, Montana, and Mississippi in advancing common-sense fines and fees reforms. Congratulations !

In Florida, most driver's license suspensions are for unpaid fines and fees. This counter-productive practice wastes public safety resources and makes it harder for people to pay their fines. Please support HB 903:

Money permeates the system. Even when you are in custody. There are fees for phone calls. Fees for deposit in your commissary. Fees to pay your fees. They are charging you even before you are arrested to long past the time you are in custody.
