As stated v4.14-rc7 + a few patches (the "big" ones from and a few other smaller ones)Idea is to use it for port.

Soft - it's just a pattern test for omap-drm. PVR modules load OK, but EGL refuses to work. It seems that old PVR drivers are picky about resolution and/or orientation of fb - possibly vanilla TI ones could be used.

Looks great, do you think EGL will work? How do you connect to the device, serial? Would love to see a writeup, good work!

Damn! It would be fantastic to have a recent kernel and EGL working on humanity's greatest invention

I'm optimistic about EGL, but first thing is to get an userspace that can do ssh via USB. Currently it's only serial and I'm having trouble starting pmOS (probably because I'm starting it w/o initramfs)

I would appreciate an intro to device penetration, should be useful for other devices too:) You opened it and found serial or had some special documentation?

Just search online for schematics and service manual. There are also a few YT videos that might help. BUT - you don't need top open it up to use serial - small piece of cardboard with two wires in SIM slot will do. DM me for details!
