She would whip up a Mac n cheese with powdered milk and old cheese. “Just cut off the bad bits”. It was glorious. I never knew we were poor, but looking back, now I know. My kid thinks he’s the luckiest tonight PIZZA!! My heart hurts a little because I didn’t break the cycle.

Living below the poverty line is hard. I have a 39 fever, thought I had eggs. Didn’t have eggs. Can’t afford Ubereats. $5 Pizza? Rain. Driving while sick. Pass. Check fridge. 1 wrap 1 tomato 1mushroom freezer cheese old spinach 1 potato. Make it work.
