I had a heap of friends start up veggie gardens for the first time during quarantine, most have had a wild ride, conceding it's much harder than it looks, but this one was the funniest 😂

life always throws obstacles our way. People often think they have more time to...(fill in the blank). Surround yourself with people & experiences that nourish your soul.

Gwyneth Paltrow is like a 7-layer dip: Layer 1: privilege Layer 2: orthorexia Layer 3: pseudoscience Layer 4: blind cluelessness Layer 5: pandemic profiteering Layer 6: entitlement Layer 7: complete fuckery

yeah! is on ...his piece on public health experts is excellent and deserves to get noticed. We should be listening to and thanking public health workers -not ignoring and harassing them.

Declined a speaking invitation for a corporation on racism and mental health because they don’t plan on paying me to do it. I politely stated asking WOC to present about racism to a predominantly white audience for a big corp *unpaid* is a form of structural racism in itself.

As a nutrition & obesity scientist, reporters will ask me what is the one thing I would change to combat the obesity epidemic. My response is always the same: eliminate social inequity & poverty. Obesity is a complex & multifactorial disease, but often stems from social factors.

I shop for groceries 1-2x/wk. I wear a mask😷(I've been wearing one when I shop since March). I sanitize the cart handle🛒,use a credit card💳 & sanitize hands🤲 once I've put groceries in the car🚗. I store food appropriately. Wash my hands & cook it to proper temps

...to patients’ organs and bodily systems. I’m also not touching the mental component of this, which is compounded by the very virtue of not knowing if it’ll eventually kill you. But long-term covid sufferers all report the same thing: that the recovery is non-linear. 10/

Everyone knows the lung stuff already, so I won't elaborate. But it doesn’t just go away. I wake up every morning & when I breathe in, it feels like someone is crinkling plastic in my chest. And these are just the symptoms. I’m not even touching the physical damage done… 9/

The “brain fog.” I couldn’t read or make sense of text at times. I couldn’t remember words. I’d stare at my partner at a loss for what I needed to communicate, or how to do it. Also: thickening of the blood, clotting. Weird, inexplicable changes to the menstrual cycle. 8/

was waking up in the middle of the night, gasping for breath. I also experienced tremors while trying to sleep, like someone was shaking the bed. Also: many report a “hot head.” Mine literally radiated heat, despite not hitting a high fever. Then, there’s the confusion… 7/
