There might be some great uses for algae, like animal or human food etc, but if the carbon is in flow back to the atmosphere through other uses, we cant really call it carbon capture.

The company has suggested that this biomass could be used in a number of applications, like making oils or cosmetics..use it for fuels. Umm, if you turn CO2 into biomass, that you then burn, where is the carbon capture?

I finally got a chance to read the whole report over the course of a couple of flights today. While I have a stylistic objection to some of the hyperbole at one end and the techno-utopian thinking at the other, there is a lot of important work in this that we ignore at our peril.

That was me driving up from Masterton for a 10 am flight. After sitting on top of the hill for 15 mins I did the same as you.

Well that explains why I almost missed my flight this morning - gridlock on the hill meant I turned around and went via Ashurst.

Were not doing retail whole crickets just yet - just restaurants for now. There might be a few places in Masterton with them on the menu soon :-)
