"In 30 years King went from ignominy to icon. In 1966, twice as many Americans had an unfavorable opinion of him as a favorable one. By 1999, he was virtually tied with JFK and Albert Einstein as one of the most admired public figures of 20th century."

Tell me again anti-immigration politics has nothing to do with race "A third of British people would want no Nigerians or Pakistanis to come to the UK, but just one in 10 would want to stop those from 'culturally close' countries, such as Australia"

THREAD What happens when you refuse to perform for the media and become part of the spectacle that is racism. Earlier I received a text message from a producer working for a national radio station. I’m not naming the radio station as the producer is only following instructions.

No we weren’t in any way given more resources, we had a trainee organiser like the majority of other marginal seats. We attracted a lot of activists and that’s why we managed to make the dent we did.

Sure that helped, but we gained more than double the votes that greens had in 2017 and also went completely against the national & London trend

Erm no, the numbers disprove that assertion. We ran a great campaign but couldn’t do it on our own

Happy to discuss with leader and deputy leadership candidates, but the above are serious issues that need to be considered in a strategy to win and to ensure we encourage more poc to run.

3/ the lies Tories could spread with zero repercussions. Constituents here were inundated with letters, phone calls & ads filled with lies, that were amplified at the national level. What consequence is there for this? And given they’ve got away with it why not do it again?
