Nikolay, this makes me really sad to read. You bet on my little project early, and helped diagnose some major issues, for which I will be forever grateful.
I hope that with time and space you can find a way back to OSS on your own terms.
Thank you for all of your hard work.

Some of us in the Rust community really hated how this has turned out. We wanted to write you a letter of support. github.com/actix-support/…

I am sorry to see you go. I was especially impressed how responsive you were in chat to help with problems.
You achieved a lot, you can be proud and I'd be happy to meet you some time.
Please don't delete actix. It's useful.

"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity"
I don't believe that most people are trying to be malicious. The human disconnection and the lack of social skills from most programmers is probably the biggest problem.

Very sorry to see you go. I hope you will reconsider after you see the outpouring of support and introspection which has transpired. I think it's fair to say there is a silent majority within the Rust community who deeply appreciate your work and your nature.

For better or for worse, your project has been at the eye of a major storm of community maturation and culture. It has had the effect of turning over stones, and sometimes it's not pretty to see what was beneath them, but ultimately cathartic, I think.

sorry you had to encounter these entitled people, some of the Rust community (especially /r/rust?) has a serious problem
I used actix to serve a lot of thumbnails and it worked great
