Ezra Klein
Whoa. did some rough math and: If Republicans win the GA specials, the Dem Senate *minority* will represent 20 million more people than the GOP majority. If Dems win, the Senate will be 50-50, and Dems will represent 41 million more people.
If the United States chose its leaders in free and fair elections, Republicans would be firmly out of power.

This makes the case for Admitting DC and Puerto Rico, even if its a 50-50 Senate with VP-elect Harris as the tie-breaker. We've got to root out this tyrannical minority party that has consolidated so much power in itself.

Maybe all the San Franciscans and New Yorkers who left the cities during the pandemic can congregate in North and South Dakota LOL. New population centers SFSD and NYND

And this is why this country is so dysfunctional. The Senate system gives the GOP a huge political subsidy. North Dakota + South Dakota have more political power in the Senate than California.

It’s so frustrating and completely unfair, just like the electoral college.

Which is why the electoral college HAS to go. It’s the only way small states are weighted so heavily versus the population centers which contribute so much more in taxes. They basically support underpopulated, under funded states that control our destiny.
