I fundamentally agree but OTOH I live in a city where a large proportion of rideshare drivers are immigrants from countries where the only dogs one encounters are scary wild dogs, and fear of dogs is a really real thing here. That's the context where a training lens makes sense

Also, I believe he moved to Brazil initially because his partner was not able to immigrate to the US. The idea that he doesn't care about the US state is... well, really bizarre.

Joe Biden, who actively aided and abetted the fraudulent war in Iraq, is lying about his record. Bernie Sanders also needs to answer for his own support for regime change, sanctions and bombing of Iraq:

Do you have it for parents as a whole? Do you have it for all mothers or only some subpops (“young mothers”)? Not trying to be pedantic. I think how we decide to mentally divide parents matters. It’s easy & automatic to group as mothers/fathers but the added freedom is for all

Sure. What do you lose by writing in a less sexist way? Have you lost any precision that mattered to your point?

I love Claudia Goldin’s research but it seems weird to start (in this article) from saying the issue is framed too narrowly around a narrow slice of professionals and then pivot to talking about a phenomenon that is truly about the most highly paid professionals

I still remember being mortified when I was a 3rd yr med student & answered “homicide” to the chief of OB/gyn’s question about the leading cause of death of pregnant women in the U.S. He patronizingly corrected me & said “cardiovascular disease”. But he was wrong. Homicide is.

In light of , sharing this piece on how many Civil Rights leaders were also deeply involved in the labor struggle. Dr. King spent his final full day on earth advocating for striking sanitation workers. “We go up together, or we go down together.”

Federal judge issues temporary order to not deport a Northeastern student. CBP does anyway. Federal judge gives up on the case saying “I don’t think they’re going to listen to me.” I am at a total loss for words.

Immediately (when I had it last year). Or, rather, first I thought it might be pneumonia that developed incredibly fast, but never thought just a cold. On 2nd day while walking dog, a block from home, considered sitting down in snow bc so tired. If seems like a cold, prob not flu
