"Cognitive communism" did have better posters than "cognitive capitalism" ("In order to have more, it is necessary to produce more. In order to produce more, it is necessary to know more.")

yeah, the Heller text is in in line with the Markus argument as they worked together.

I was reading the Habermas chapter of that book just a few days ago. I sort of know the argument. But that's not sort of what I'm after... When Marx says that a chair is a thing to sit on... it's not really suitable to Postonian analysis - it's just a banal functionalist slippage

yes but here the question is: does he mean "uses" to refer to the idea that each thing has its own stable/abstract use (as in the functionalist paradigm in design) or does he refer to the many possible uses that a given thing can have, i.e. the function is indeterminable?

he says that about use values used in production itself, which is also how he comes to historicize the use value of labor (which is also what György Márkus points out). But elsewhere in his writings, when he is not discussing labor specifically, he does have a natural conception

yeah, i reread some of his later papers on value... while he says plenty of interesting things about value, he is more (rightly) going after Marxists than after Marx...

Can't see how it follows from here... "Use-value expresses the natural relation (Naturbeziehung) between things and men, in fact the being (Dasein) of things for men. Exchange value . . . is the social existence (gesellschafliche Dasein) of things’ (Marx, 1956b: vol. 26.3, 291)"
